Leapster

I was interested in investigating what Leapfrog offered for middle school students.  Leapfrog created a digital handheld device for students  ages 8-14.  It is called the Crammer.   On the internet, there are over 16,000 quiz questions that students can download.  The quiz questions cover math, science, history, and english and they come from current textbooks. Students can make up their own flash cards and study guides with the quiz questions.   Crammer is compatible with PC and Mac computers.  Parents can access their students progress via the internet.

I am interested in Math so I researched the math quizzes that are available online and these are the concepts covered:

Math Quizzes:

3rd-4th Grade

Geometry

Number & Sense Operations

5th Grade

Algebra

Data Analysis & Probability

Geometry & Measurement

Number & Sense Operations

6th-8th Grade

Algebra

Data Analysis & Probability

Geometry & Measurement

Number & Sense Operations

To motivate students, Crammer also has the ability for students to listen to music while they are studying.

Crammer is only $59.99.  I was interested in leapfrog technology because I watch young kids use them to learn different concepts.   If kids enjoy using leapster then I would think older kids may enjoy using Crammer.  Crammer is a great price and I think they could be used in a classroom for students to practice during free time.
