LAN School

LanSchool ImageAdvances in technology have allowed educators to use the internet and the computer to revolutionize the way they teach.  With the use of computers and the internet in school comes the risk of student distraction due to email, chat, games and even inappropriate websites.  In my Library we use a software called LAN School that allows my adult aide and myself to better monitor what students are doing on their computers.

From our computers we can see each students screen which allows us to see what they are looking at.  We can freeze their screen, close their screen and disable their ability to be on the internet.  We can also send messages to students individually or to the entire group.  Without this software we would not be able to insure that students are on task and avoiding inappropriate sites.

We have recently purchased an updated version which cost us just under $200.00.  Shortly we will be installing the updated software.  The software is very easy to use.

The LAN School Website http://www.lanschool.com/ does have many good resources that further explain the product including an introduction, tour, testimonials and tutorials.

For purchasing/pricing the software go to or call  877.370.5546 or quotes@lanschool.com.
