Grading

The grading breaks down as listed below.  The percentages are percentage of your final grade.
 

Knowledge Base & Blog Posts (60%)

  • 4 Blog Posts: 20% (5% each)
    • Goals for class
    • Definitions
    • Open education
    • Paper topics
  • 5 wiki pages for Ed Tech Knowledge Base: 40% (8% each)
    • Organizations
    • Journals
    • Learning Theories
    • Instructional Design Techniques
    • Technologies

Research Papers (40%)

  • Major Research Paper (8-10 pages): 30%
    • Presentation: 10%
      • 5-10 minute presentation to class in Wimba about your research paper topic.  Last name N-Z, present Nov. 5th, last name A-M, present Nov. 12th.
    • First draft: 10%
      • As long as it meets the minimum requirements (8 pages, 5 references), you'll receive full credit.
      • You'll get feedback for improving your paper from Yan Ma and myself.
    • Final draft: 10%
      • Follow the feedback you get on your draft and you will have no problem getting an A.
  • Reflection or Revision Assignment (1-2 pages): 10%
    • Either cleanup 3 wiki articles in the Ed Tech Knowledge Base,
    • or write a 1-2 page paper or blog post reflecting on what you learned this semester and how it might apply to your future plans or current career.
