NACOL (North American Council for Online Learning
Purpose: NACOL is dedicated to quality online learning opportunities for all K-12 age children. In line with its belief that online education is an important tool in providing equal education opportunities to all children, NACOL actively promotes the enlargement and improvement of online education in public school systems. It was originally launched as a formal corporate entity in September 2003. The cost to join this organization is $60/year for educators and $125/year for non-educators.

Conferences and Events:
- VSS (Virtual School Symposium 2008) October 26-28, 2008 in Phoenix Arizona: This conference is dedicated to improving and promoting online education for K12 learners exclusively. On the NACOL website (see address above) there is a detailed agenda, as well as registration information, maps, speaker information, and answers to any other questions you might have. If you miss this year's symposium, you can catch the one next year, as these are annual events.
- Monthly Webinar: These webinars (online seminars) occur on the second Wednesday of the month at 2:00-3:00 PM (Eastern Time). The cost is $29 per webinar for members and $79 for non-members. If you register for five at once, the cost is $125 for members. Apparently non-members can only register for one at a time.
- Teacher Talk Webinar Series: This is a second category of webinars designed specifically for educators. They take place on the third Thursday of the month at 6:00-7:00 PM (Eastern Time). The cost is $10 per webinar for members and $79 for non-members. A five-webinar price of $45 is available, but only for members.
