EDMEDIA
ED-MEDIA is a World Conference on Educational Multimedia, Hypermedia, and Telecommunications. The conferences usually draw attendees from over 50 countries.
The conference addresses educational and developmental aspects of multimedia/hypermedia and telecommunications. Some of the topics covered are infrastructure, tools and content-oriented applications, new roles of the Instructor and Learner, Human-computer interaction, cases and projects, universal web accessibility, and indigenous peoples and technology.
The audience of the conference are educators. top level developers, researchers, and administrators. The conference is open to all so they can learn the latest developments and applications related to information technology for both the educational and business purposes.
The conference targets corporations to come and present their company's recent developments and applications. The conference gives corporations time and space to showcase their products and services.
Some of the topics discussed at the last conference were "Where is the Mentor": New Ways of Supporting Learning given by Peter J. Scott. His presentation focused on effective mentoring and peer support in the classroom. If students mentor each other then they help each other grow. Another great topic that was discussed was "Moving beyond the Plentitude: An Indian Fable" by Geetha Narayanan. Her presentation discussed the fact that we have so much technology and resources in our schools today that it is turning into "stuff." Teachers are being inundated with so many tools that we having too much stuff in our classroom and we don't do anything productive with it. She discussed using our digital "stuff" in a creative and productive way to increase learning in our classrooms.

If an educator wants to know the latest and greatest in teaching technologies I do believe that ED-MEDIA is the conference to attend.
