CT4ME
Computing Technology for Math Excellence (www.CT4ME.net) is dedicated to providing teachers and students with on-line resources for mathematics grades k-12. There are numerous links to various resources for educators on technology integration, multimedia in projects, web design, and national math initiatives to name a few. For students and educators there are countless links to virtual math manipulatives, games, simulations, and problem solving and critical thinking. CT4ME also provides over 70 links to software programs to assist in enhancing achievement levels.
CT4ME has 4 major objectives. They are:
- To identify mathematics resources, and resources for integrating technology into instruction and for professional development,
- to assist K-12 teachers to select mathematics software appropriate for the standards movement,
- to identify and evaluate mathematics software, designed to help students master mathematical concepts and to prepare for state standardized tests, and
- to share other research interests, which include online learning and distance education. (Deubel, 2008)
CT4ME also keeps updated pages on math education in the news, journal articles, papers, associations, and professional development. Dr. Patricia Deubel, Ph. D. developed this organization to assist teachers and learners of math to embark on the U.S. Department of Education’s call to use technology effectively in the classroom to raise achievement levels.
