Technology Endorsement

See the Program Planning Sheet

Overview:  The purpose of the Technology Endorsement program is to provide in-service teachers with the courses necessary to meet the requirements for the technology endorsement for the state of Utah. It is assumed that the individual seeking the technology endorsement holds, or is working toward, licensure as a classroom teacher.

Program: The program is designed for students to begin summer semester and complete all requirements by the end of fall semester. The program consists of six courses for a total of eighteen credits.  A minimum of fifteen of the eighteen required credits must be taken through the Department of Instructional Technology at Utah State University for a departmental recommendation to the Utah State Office of Education for endorsement.

Completion of the coursework does not automatically guarantee a recommendation by the Instructional Technology department to the Utah State Office of Education. A recommendation for the technology endorsement will be made when the student has:

    1. approval of the program advisor
    2. completed the program with a 3.0 or higher grade point average
    3. demonstrated competency in all coursework
    4. demonstrated interpersonal skills to work effectively with students and teachers

Note: If you are currently not a student at Utah State University, you must apply and be accepted before you begin the coursework. Use the online transfer student application form (available at http://www.usu.edu/admissions/) or work with your local Utah State University Regional Campus. Directions for completing the online transfer student application form are available on the Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences department website (http://itls.usu.edu).
