About Me

I work as an advisor in the Student Success Center at Weber State University.  Primarily, I help new freshman, undecided students and those struggling with academic policies (i.e. GPA requirements).

I have been known to make students cry because I enforce the math policy at WSU.  Making new freshman (and many continuing students) register for mandatory math courses is always interesting.

I also present several learning modules for our office: General Studies Sessions, Bounce Back sessions (i.e. GPA coaching) and what I call Vanilladvising (what should I register for?).

I hope to bring what I learn in this program to my office by moving us to the online arena.  We can and should reach out to students from wherever they feel most comfortable, whether home or campus, to help them navigate and succeed at the university.

As for long term, I ultimately want to teach in the English department at WSU, both as a Developmental English Instructor and a creative writing adjunct, utilizing distance education methods and what we learn here.

I'm pretty excited.
