About Me
I am originally from Montana, and was raised mostly in Helena. I attended Helena schools until graduating in 1988 (oopsy...dating myself!). Following high school, I attended Montana State University in Bozeman for a few years until my major was discontinued. I then transferred to The University of Montana in Missoula and in 1993 graduated with a BA in Business Education.
About two months after graduation, I moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina and began my teaching career at a private school called The Fayetteville Academy. While that was a fantastic job, my husband was transferred to Seoul, South Korea, so we packed up our young family (a 16 month old son and found out the day before we were leaving that baby #2 was on the way) and happily crossed the ocean. For our two years in Korea, I taught Conversational English to people ranging in age from about 14 to about 50. It was truly a great experience in my life, and no place I have ever lived has felt more like home.
Upon returning to the States, we moved back to Montana - Helena, this time. About a month after our return, our third baby was born (yes, that was three kids in about three and a half years), so I took two years off work to raise children. Returning to the workforce in the year 2001 after our fourth baby was born mainly involved working as adjunct faculty teaching distance and night classes for The University of Montana - Helena College of Technology. In 2005, my youngest son was growing up (the 5th baby) and it was time to return to work full-time. I moved to the mountains of Montana to a charming town called Lincoln, and there taught for two years in business and computers.
I now live and work in West Point, Utah and love every part of it. I'm single and have four living children. My boys are 14 and 7, and my girls are 10 and 12. I'm so excited to be in this MEd program so I can increase my skills, become more valuable to my district and have the personal satisfaction that comes with such a big accomplishment!
