Guest Speaker: Seth Gurell on Open Education

Seth Gurell, PhD student, will speak to the MED class on Wednesday September 17th at 6pm in room 272.  He will talk about open education.  He is coordinating the Open Education conference here at USU September 24-26th, and he is the primary author of the OER Handbook (open educational resources), which is also available as a pdf.  Feel free to check out those sites before his talk.

 

As the handbook mentions: "The term "Open Educational Resource(s)" (OER) refers to educational resources (lesson plans, quizzes, syllabi, instructional modules, simulations, etc.) that are freely available for use, reuse, adaptation, and sharing."
