Vice President of Program Development
Career Step is the nation's leading provider of online medical transcription and coding & billing training. Career Step enjoys a tremendous market advantage in the industry by virtue of its reputation as an innovative, competency-based training company.
Career Step is currently seeking a Vice President of Program Development. This is a senior management position that is responsible for managing the Research & Development activities of the Company. Those responsibilities include upfront market feasibility analyses of potential new online programs(inside and outside healthcare), evaluation of third-party offerings that are candidates for licensure or conversion to online courses, management of the internal development of the content and curriculum of new programs and coordination of all functional responsibilities within R&D project plans from conceptualization to program launch.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Through two managers, the curriculum development manager and the product development manager, direct and manage a team of market researchers, content writers, editors, programmers, graphic designers, and web designers to assess, design, develop, and launch new online education programs.
2. Provide leadership at an executive level to coordinate multi-functional professionals to effectively test and launch new vocational programs and supplemental courses.
3. Interface effectively with thirdparties to evaluate market opportunities for online education programs, design curriculum, develop and/or license content, and release new programs in a timely manner. Build a pipeline of new potential programs.
4. Team with Client Services Department to establish relationships with potential employers for graduating students.
5. In conjunction with the Student Services Department, continuously evaluate necessary updates and changes to existing education programs to maintain their competitiveness, accuracy, and timeliness with changes in the medical or other fields for which students are prepared.
6. Handle all administrative duties associated with managing a professional department within Career Step.
EDUCATION/ WORK EXPERIENCE:
ESSENTIAL:
BS or BA Degree
Minimum 5-10 years relevant experience
DESIRABLE:
Masters Degree
10+ years relevant experience in an allied healthcare setting or education company.
SALARY RANGE:
Base Salary: $100,000
Bonus: 10%-20% of Base
Equity: As appropriate
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position will be located in an office setting where the employee will be sitting for lengths of time while work is performed, frequently at a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee is required to contain certain vision abilities, which include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
