Rebekah Richards will discuss how the skills she learned as an instructional designer have helped her frame -- and, more importantly, reframe -- questions and ideas and move in a new and rapidly evolving field: online education.
Rebekah Richards is The American Academy's Chief Academic Officer and School Principal ((http://www.theamericanacademy.com). Rebekah has worked in online high school education since 1999; she has been involved in the early stage planning and implementation of numerous public and private online high schools throughout the country, including Colorado Online Learning, Connecticut¹s Adult Education online program, The Online Latin School, and Insight Schools, Inc.

DMLGroup will bring alumni Dr. David Gordon and Master Brian Astorga, (previous USU instructors and recipients of department awards), to share tips and tricks, answer your questions, and talk about some of their favorite projects. Consider it more of an open forum of what it is like outside the ivory towers and in a small, local, instructional design/development company.
ITSA 2009-2010: A New Year!
Welcome: If you have yet to become a member of ITSA, consider this your official invitation and welcome. We hope to make this year a good one for all members and students, past and present. Some of our goals this year are, 1. Increase communication of ITSA events through formats such as email, video recordings, audio recordings etc. 2. Facilitate regular brown bag meetings, 3. Create continuity from year to year with the organization of the government and with increased student involvement in committees.

Welcome to students who joined the ITLS department this year! We showed them the ropes on our ropes course this past month during orientation. Jullie Payne posted pictures of the MED ropes course and Bryan Tanner posted a summary and video of the MS/PhD course on his blog.
