Week 11: Drupal Views & the Content Construction Kit (CCK)
This last week (see the week 11 notes) I give you a taste of how to create new content types in drupal using the CCK module, and a bit about how to create 'views' of nodes. In this case we create a new 'event' content type and calendar and upcoming events views. Use of views & cck is NOT a requirement for your final project due next week (July 30th), however.
Remember to fill out the course evaluation form in blackboard (http://bb.usu.edu)! I appreciate any feedback and look forward to seeing what you were able to accomplish in drupal! Enjoy the rest of the summer!
Week 10: Customizing Your Drupal Theme
In the Week 10 notes and video we'll learn how to make minor tweaks to the CSS of a drupal theme to customize the look of your drupal site. There are links to more in depth or advanced tutorials, too, for those who optionally wish to create their own drupal theme.
The details of the final project due July 30th have been posted to the week 12 notes. I changed it so that you can just send me a screenshot (picture) of your site instead of having to create a video tour. The requirements and info on how to create a screenshot and send it to me are posted on the final project page.

I'll be grading everyone's midterm project this Monday and emailing each of you.
This week (see Week 9 Notes) we get into the real meat and potatoes of using Drupal to create a real website. We'll start by downloading and installing a couple of modules, then learn how to add content, a navigation bar ("menu"), and blocks to our site.
Week 8: Introducing Drupal
I know many of you may still be working on your midterm project website due this week, but when you have finished that, take a break and then we can get started this week playing around with Drupal, a content management system (CMS) that handles things like the HTML headers, CSS files and so forth for you.
I've posted the Week 8 Notes about Drupal, along with two videos introducing Drupal and giving you a tour of some basic stuff you can do with your Drupal site:
If you already installed Drupal Acquia at the beginning of the semester but forgot your username and password, watch the beginning of the second video for how to reset your password by editing the MySQL database table.
