I married the lovely Elizabeth Merrill in March 2006. We moved to Clearfield, Utah in 2007, a week after our son Connor was born. He is now almost two years old.
I am a 3rd-year technology teacher at Clearfield High School. I teach multimedia, 3D animation, and video production classes. Examples of my students' work can be found at the CHS Falcon Media website.
I graduated from BYU in 2007 with a BS in technology education. I am currently attending Utah State University through their distance ed program. I am working on an M.Ed in Educational Technology. I expect to graduate in May 2010.
I believe that meaningful learning comes through the process of creation. However, our children are taught first and foremost by society to be consumers. To that end, I challenge my students to be constantly creating in my classroom. Through creation, students learn critical thinking and problem solving skills. They also learn to find their own motivation to create and to take pride in their creations. I hope to develop my students' technological literacy so that they will be successful with any technology in a rapidly evolving world.
