Wikieducator appears to be a very useful site but a user-friendlier main page might attract more visitors. All of these new wiki- pages reminds me of all of the new dotcom businesses that sprang up several years ago. Some were very viable but others were quickly forgotten. One of the most intriguing items from the main page (http://www.wikieducator.org/Main_Page) was a statistic that over 1/2 of those registered on Wickieducator were over 45. I am under that age group and am now registered, but why are more "experienced" educators using the site? DoClick here to read more »

Wikieducator is good in theory
Wikieducator is a community approach to learning. The goal of the project is that learners can work collaboratively to gain access to free education by 2015. Wikieducator is sponsored by COL - Common Wealth of Learning.
WikiEducator aims to build a thriving and sustainable global community dedicated to the design, development and delivery of free content for learning.
It all sounds so wonderful and worth this global effort, if the free information is worth accessing.Click here to read more »

I have no idea what happened to my original blog post on WikiEducator. I thought that WikiEducator was helpful, yet not the easiest to navigate (at least for me). It took me at least 10 minutes to figure out where I could actually find lesson and activity ideas. I tried to limit my searching of the material to my content area, math, because I thought it would be easiest to understand and use for me. I was able to find specific activities and lessons on specific topic, for a certain grade level. Right now I'm stuggling with my study strategies class learning fClick here to read more »

When I started teaching last year, I was informed during the faculty opening lunch that, in addition to teaching the multimedia classes I had gone to 4 years of college to teach, I also was going to be teaching CAD Drafting and Computer Programming classes. I had been planning my Multimedia curriculum in my head and on paper for 3 years, and besides, I love that stuff. I could probably throw together a solid hour and half of instruction with five minutes notice. These two new classes were another issue; teaching them had never even crossed my mind.
