Internet Development class
The Internet Development class (INST 5265) has wrapped up. You can see the outline of weekly activities and the video channel if you are interested in learning more about HTML, CSS, or the Drupal content management system (used to power this very site).
Email me if you have any questions.
FriendFeed lifestream
I made some minor improvements and bug fixes to the friendfeed drupal module, see my earlier blog post for info on how to use it.
FriendFeed now integrated with our Drupal site
For a while we were trying to find a way to integrate students' outside blogs and social services with our site. The first module I tried (activitystream) really did not work well. Now instead I have installed the FriendFeed module which is more reliable but depends on friendfeed.com, a third party service. It is very popular however, and is not likely to go away anytime soon.
To add links to your outside blogs and other services, subscribe at http://friendfeed.com/ and then come back here and edit your profile. You'll see a new "Outside Feeds" section. Enter your friendfeed username there as well as the remote api key, which you can find here: https://friendfeed.com/accountClick here to read more »

Turning off the activity stream module
The activitystream module I tried out the past 2 weeks is not working at all. I made some patches and improvements, but there are so many bugs it's not worth the effort.
I'll try to find another solution when we upgrade to drupal 6 this summer.
Sharing Your Other Online Activities & Bookmarks
If you have other blogs or use social bookmarking and networking sites like delicious.com or share items on google reader, you can now share them on this site as well automatically.
You just need to edit your profile and click on the link to the "Online Activities" section, where you can enter your other RSS feeds or user names. Remember passwords were reset over the break, so use this form to reset your password<Click here to read more »
