The use of social software in adult education

Sharee Dickey's picture

Deciding on a topic was indeed very difficult. As I searched for articles, I ended up with 20! I am now in the process of weeding out the ones I will not be using and refining my topic.

I plan to include a brief overview or history of the various social software that has been used in educating adults up to this point. This will be the history section. I will then narrow my focus to the newest trend of using microblogging. There have been several case studies that will be included and I will discuss the advantages and disadvantages that were found.

Microblogging supports the social aspect of learning, but does it also cause a distraction?

my references

Doug,

Most of my references are coming from conferences and I'm not sure I cited them correctly. I have a lot to choose from and could include more if needed.

That's fine, great job! Some

That's fine, great job!

Some are not research references like the one below, but it's fine as long as you have at least 5 research references or case studies from research journals:

Bugeja, M. (2006). Facing the Facebook. The Chronicle of Higher Education, 52(21), C1.

Let me know if I can be of any help or help you find anything else on the topic.

The topic that you selected

The topic that you selected seems very interesting to me. There are many social software. You might want to categorize them first, and then discuss their advantages and disadvantages.

Some references seem incorrect. You might also add the link where you retrieve the article from.

My topic

Okay, I was thinking of overviewing the more established software and then focusing on micro blogging since it seems to be the newest trend. Just trying to organize it correctly. I will definitely spend some time on the references. Thanks for your suggestions.
