ITSA game night report
We had a good time at the ITSA game night. Although there was no one from the faculty, we had a good turn out. Almost everyone brought snacks and several people brought their families.
Creating user community for OCW through sharing lecture movies
The idea was to get courses online for free distribution (directly targeting podcasts for Iphone/Itouch. The presenter (Yoshimi Fukuhara) is from Keio Universtity in Japan where OCW has been only been around for 3 years. He showed how putting these files online drove traffic to their site and how the instructors felt about the content that was created. Most 84% of the instructors believed it would benificial for their future classes.
He also introduced something called "fusen" which allows cross platform easy use of the program.Click here to read more »

Evaluation of Learning Objects
This 45 minute session was very interesting in terms of group dynamics yet, owever I'm not certain what was accomplished. The concept of learning objects are something still in dispute. The different definitions of them can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Learning_object
Sadly, the presentation started with a bit of background and then launched into a quazi-directed group discussion about how to break down evaluating learning objects. It quickly became apparent that learning objects, as a concept or even a pratice, is not ready for evaluation.
