Open education

I love to learn. However, sometimes I need to do things at my own pace, so I think open education is a fantastic alternative to taking face to face classes. If society takes advantage of the opportunity to learn with free education it will increase our knowledge and help us become more well-rounded individuals that can contribute more effectively to society.

I also often question in education “Why do we reinvent the wheel?” If a person has a great method for teaching a particular subject, why not share it with others, so more can benefit from it. I find great ideas from other teachers on how to teach math and my students are the ones that benefit from it. I feel that that is what education is all about, the best practices and methods for student achievement.

So let’s get out there and learn all that we can and share our ideas with others for the benefit of society.
