If you missed the chance to listen to Ken Bain speak last spring, get his book. For those who value not only command of the subject but also creating an environment in the teaching of it, that lights a fire in the minds and hearts of learners, It is a great great read.

Fall Semester 2008 Review

As I was walking home from the library wednesday night, with my last assignment finished except for proof reading and printing, I began to review in my mind what I learned about myself, the department and the classes I took. 
 
First of all, each day is a great day at USU. I never wanted any day to end, much less the semester. The reading, learning, writing, the occasional lively class room discussions and more importantly, the private discussions with members of our cohort was all wonderful for me.Click here to read more »

USU Rocks! - COSL Conference 2008

I attended a number of classes on Thursday, as I was the room-dude. I learned something from each one. There were two, however, that were especially good.
 
Yale University and Online Learning
Funded by the Hewlett Foundation, Yale made some very interesting decisions in producing Open Courseware.
First they felt their strength was not in a particular format but in the teacher themselves and their presentations.Click here to read more »
