Physics and Mathematics OCW
NCTU (a university in Taiwan) has implemented OCW for Calculus I/II and Physics courses. The university has its own digital content office and built a "classroom" exclusively for filming its courseware. The program started in 2006 and is funded by the Ministry of Education. The reason the courses offered by this university are Calculus and Physics is that the University is well known for its teaching and research in science and engineering. Two of the crucial entry level courses are Physics and Calculus.

Open Ed Conference--TUSK
TUSK--Tufts University Scientific Knowledge
TUSK is a learning object repository full of metadata which allows reuse, searching, indexing, search, retrieval and authoring tools to mobile phones. Tufts University is in partnership with 3 schools in Africa, 3 schools in US, and 1 school in India. They are trying to develop a mechanism for students to access database on mobile phones. I don't tend to do anything the easy way...
Well, here it is the second week of the semester and I wonder when I will sleep. You see when I do something I have the tendency to do it "whole hog." I am so excited to be back in school learning (about instruction, psychology and technology) that I have signed myself up for 5 classes. They all seem so interesting to me--I'm like a kid in a candy store.
My sabbatical lasts only one year so I'm trying to cram as much as I can into that year (not sure that's the best strategy...but there it is). I will return toClick here to read more »
