Definitions

I thought that I had a pretty firm grasp on what technology was. Little did I know. It wasn't until recently that my eyes where opened to a more broad perspective of what technology is. Even though my eyes are now open, I am not  sure if I know the definition of technology.

In my research I found several defintions that where lengthy and drawn out. I like the shorter, more clear  definitions. This link had this to say and nothing else.

Technology education is a distinct discipline that provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to function in a technological society.

Instructional or educational technology is a strategy for using different forms of technology (such as computers) to aid educational instruction. It is not a discipline.

In short instructional technology is braod in the sense that in incorporates any form of technology that will aid in instruction.  We are all different therefor, we will each use a different strategy to educate based on how comfortable we are with technololgy.
