Definitions

Wow, after reading the definitions for this week’s assignment, I realized how lacking my understanding of this area really was. As a teacher of technology I thought that “Instructional technology” was nothing more than teaching how to use technology. After searching the web and long discussion with colleagues I discovered that instructional technology is what we as teachers should be doing, using technology to improve instruction and the learning process.  (http://www.utexas.edu/academic/diia/assessment/iar/glossary.php#i) Although the site specifically defines instruction, the definition could be changed to say “instruction is an interaction between students and teachers using technology to enhance the learning process.”
