OpenCourseware Blog - James Wilson
Initially, I was not sure about what OCW really was. After spending some time reading the USU OCW site, I was very imprsessed with what the goals were and what could be achieved.
Providing open access to course materials is a great concept. I know as an educator that this is smoething that I could use in my school. Not only is it a great resource of information for me as a teacher but it can be a great rsourece for students. The fact that it is available for free and without being a registered USU student or registred member of the course is amazing. Being an educator, I know how exclusive teachers can be when it comes to sharing their class information. OCW pushes the education community to open up and share their resources for the betterment of all.
I was excited to see OCW programs available at other major univerisities. I will share this program with other teachers and encourage them to explore it. Hopefully, those who use it will follow the use guidelines and remember to credit the author of the work.
