Hill AFB Reflection
On Friday, October 10, 2008, I visited the Hill AFB base with my Foundations class. I did not know what exactly to expect and the trip turned out to be pretty fun. We meet with people the from Southwest Research Institute, Hill AFB CTO, and the 367th. Each organization is unique in their own way. Southwest does not only training and instruction but research as well. Joyce Peters from the CTO was very energetic and dynamic. Watching her made me tired. Connecting Practitioner to Lessons Learned: OER Case Study Tool, on Thursday from 1:15-2 pm
I attended the Connecting Practitioner to Lessons Learned: OER Case Study Tool, on Thursday from 1:15-2 pm. The workshop focused on the question, “Why do a case study?” and a couple of examples of case studies. The workshop gave several answers to the question, unknown potential, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Basically, what your goals were, how you implemented them, and what the outcome was.

The Next Generation of OER, on Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m.
I attended the Design to Share – The Next Generation of OER, on Thursday from 11-11:45 a.m. The workshop focused on the NROC, a collection of high-quality multimedia used to address the needs of underserved students, establish content and technical standards for online, foster collaboration among content development users and become financially self-sustained.
