Sharing Your Other Online Activities & Bookmarks

If you have other blogs or use social bookmarking and networking sites like delicious.com or share items on google reader, you can now share them on this site as well automatically. 
 
You just need to edit your profile and click on the link to the "Online Activities" section, where you can enter your other RSS feeds or user names.  Remember passwords were reset over the break, so use this form to reset your password first.
 
Everyone's shared items as well as their blog and news posts here show up aggregated together on the Shared Items page, which also has an RSS feed.  It's a nice way to keep up to date with what everyone in the department is doing or reading lately.  It's similar to the various "planet" sites that aggregate multiple blogs on one topic.  I guess I should have named it ITLS Planet.
 
This functionality was made possible by a patched up version of the activitystream module for drupal.  There are still some kinks here and there, but when we upgrade to drupal 6 those will be ironed out.

I've disabled this module now because even with my patches there were still just too many bugs and issues.
 
In drupal 6 this summer I'll be able to create a better solution.
