Wk #4 Learning

Learning has changed so much over the years that it's interesting to look back to see how it was done in the past.  My great-grandmother used to live in a house that was once one-room school house.  It's amazing to me that there were several children of all ages learning in one room all in different subjects and levels.  I grew up around some Amish people and they kept the one-room school house tradition going and their school was very simple and used for learning.  Go into most classrooms today and it seems very hectic.  Even if there are no kids in there the rooms are so busy that I wonder if kids are able to concentrate.  For some students, the surroundings could either hinder or enhance learning.

More to come!

How cool is that!

You got to see education at its simplest. That is fascinating!  And, I do agree with you that education today seems more hectic than even 40 years ago, but I think it is a direct reflection of the world we live in.  Just look at what you do.  You design courseware to help troops learn faster, to get them into their jobs faster, to get them experience faster, to be able to defend our country faster.  See a pattern?  It's called F-A-S-T-E-R.  While I do like some of the things in this fast world, I do long for a slower paced life.  Maybe we can get there someday.

By the way, how cute are you! :)
